Baseball America 2009 Rookie of the Year
This second-year centerfielder has shown that he has the potential to become one of the best leadoff hitters in the game. A bright spot for Pittsburgh, Andrew McCutchen became the 10th Pittsburgh player in history to hit three home runs in a single game and the first to do it as a rookie when he went 4-for-5 on August 1, 2009 against Washington. He finished the year by winning the Baseball America Rookie of the Year award. Andrew looks to have a permanent place in Pittsburgh’s outfield as he continues to emerge as a leader on the team. He uses the FRS Orange Powder pre-game and during workouts to stay focused and energized for the tasks at hand.
